+ GUSTO AL DESIGN is a district diffused throughout the city of Milano, created to facilitate the exposure of young designers during the 2019 Milan
Design Week.
The idea was created by a heterogeneous team comprised by Massimo Bertani,
Luca Gibillini, iarchitects, Claudia Paoluzzi, Giuseppe Riccardi and Tuorlo Design Studio (who took care of the artistic aspect). + GUSTO AL DESIGN grants young
and talented designers under 35, active in the food and beverage design sector,
the opportunity of exposing their projects in renowned taste, entertainment and hospitality locations of Milan. The initiative began with a ‘call for designers’, from which a committee – comprised by Ginevra Bocini (art director of Bitossi Home), Biagio Cisotti (architect, professor and art director of Plank), Patrizio Cionfoli (director of design and interaction of Studio Volpi), Davide Cumini (architect, partner of iarchitects), Manola Del Testa (art director RCR Cristalleria Italiana), Alberto Maria Prina (designer, artist and professor at the Accademia di Brera)
and Alessio Sarri (master ceramist) – selected 20 projects.

+ GUSTO AL DESIGN will inaugurate the initiative on April 9 at the Atelier of Santeria with a joint exhibit of all the selected design projects, accompanied by talks about design and taste hosted by Filippo Solibello and a brief message by Giuseppe Sala (Mayor). Following the talks, James Holden & The Animal Spirits will host a live performance. The exhibit at the Atelier space will remain open throughout the entirety of the Milano Design Week. Projects will also be found at renowned restaurants that are partners to the initiative: Ristorante Da I Gemelli, Ristorante Enrico Bartolini MUDEC, Ristorante Ratanà, Ristorante Savini Milano 1867, Pinch Spirit & Kitchen.

Aside from the young designer’s projects, the Prestige glass collection by RCR Cristalleria Italiana (Partner of +Gusto Al Design) will be exposed.
The glasses were created by some of the most important design names, such as Biagio Cisotti, Gilberto Corretti, Manola Del Testa, Gum Design, Giulio Iacchetti, Martinelli Venezia, Franco Raggi and Paolo Ulian. The mentioned designers used grinding techniques to create the decorations on the glasses.
